Recycle Your Number Plates with PlateCycle

New Recycling Legislation

From April 1st 2023, non-domestic premises in Wales must comply with new recycling regulations. This requires businesses to separate all recyclable metal, glass and specific plastics from general waste. At the moment plastic number plates are excluded from the eligible recycling materials. So businesses are left with two options: disposing of number plates as general waste (if allowed) or paying for costly private waste services.

While Wales are leading the way, consultations have been held and trials are underway in England. The latest information states that these Simpler Recycling regulations will apply nationwide from 2025.

Recycle not Landfill

Recycle your number plates and take the hassle from disposing of your old & discarded number plates. We provide a bin, arrange its collection & transfer, and send the contents to be processed. After processing, each material is recycled and turned into resources for making new products. Creating a more sustainable loop that stops recyclables going into landfills and lowering carbon footprints.

Uncertainty and the expense of the incoming legislation is the reason we launched PlateCycle. We are proud to be the first manufacturer to provide a recycling service for discarded number plates. While our number plate recycling service is completely free for eligible partners, terms and conditions do apply.
