Quick Guide to Number Plates, BSAU 145e and Borders
The updates in BSAU 145e affected many number plate elements, including your borders or coach-lines. Notably the exclusion zone around the registration means your borders have to be 10mm away from it. As a result, not all number plate sizes have room to fit borders on and be compliant.
In addition, some plate printing systems have a limited print area such as our small thermals. Which means they are simply unable to print compliant borders on every plate size. For most customers we can supply components with pre-printed borders instead. Or if you have a LED printer you can switch to Large Plates, which we created for 145e compliant borders.
